Assoc Prof Mythily Subramaniam is a mental health researcher and public health expert with over two decades of experience in psychiatric epidemiology and clinical research. As the Assistant Chairman of the Medical Board (Research) at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore and an Associate Professor at both the National University of Singapore (NUS) and LKCMedicine Dr Subramaniam has been at the forefront of shaping mental health policy, research, and intervention strategies. Her work includes the Singapore Mental Health Study, the Well-Being of the Singapore Elderly study, and pioneering efforts in youth mental health, stigma reduction, and substance use disorders. Beyond academia, she works closely with policymakers, health care leaders, and community organizations to ensure research findings translate into real-world impact, enhancing mental health care delivery and public awareness of mental health conditions in Singapore.
